How to Root and install CWM Recovery for Moto X?

Flash CWM Recovery

Requirements :

Before Flash need to make sure the guides are installed.

1. Download the fastboot files from the link above and extract to a folder.


2. Download for file recovery, renamed "motox.img" and put it in the same directory where you unzipped the files in step 1.


3. Boot bootloader by holding the Power and Volume Down keys together. When the phone boots, let the Power button but continue to hold the Volume Down button until you see the menu options (this is important).


4. Boot the device in fastboot mode is finished, connect it to the computer. If you have compatible drivers, download them from the link above.


5. Now navigate to the folder Fastboot. While holding down the Shift key on your keyboard, right click in the folder window and select "Open command window here"


6. Enter the following command: fastboot flash recovery motox.img


7. Once recovery is installed, access it directly from the displayed menu. The important thing in this step is to boot directly into the recovery, if not it will automatically replace it with stock recovery.


8. In CWM Recovery, reboot the device using the options provided in the recovery menu. You will be asked if you want to "disable flash recovery". Choose the option to disable the flash.

• Data Backup


• Make sure to install the full driver and the usual conditions required to Root.


• SuperSU by Chanifire | Superuser by Koush

1. Download the file either on the link, copy it into your repository, best root directory.


2. Reboot the device into recovey


3. Choose "install zip from sdcard" then "choose zip from sdcard" and choose the superuser zip file or SuperSU (whichever you downloaded in step a) to flash it.


4. Once the flash file, it can be used to clear the cache, then advanced access and delete dalvik cache.


5. Restart your phone
