Android 4.2.2 update for Acer Iconia Tab A700 with 10.1 CM Nightly ROM

Recently, 10.1 CM Nightly ROM has launched a new update for Acer Iconia Tab A700 device.ROM upgrade allows the device to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Although Jelly Bean Android 4.2.2 comes with many new features but with the mix of CM10.1, it has been adding features far more interesting. If you own an Acer Iconia Tab A700 , the following article will guide you how to install the ROM.

Things to prepare the install ROM

• Make sure USB Debugging is enabled prior to installation.


• The phone is root and install ClockworkMod.

Download the file to install

• CM10.1 ROM Jelly Bean 4.2.2 ROM For Acer Iconia Tab A700 [Filename: cm-10.1-20130908-Nightly-a700.zip]


• Google Apps [Filename: gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip]

Install ROM device

1. Connect the tablet to your PC by USB cable.


2. Download and coppy files on the SD card of your phone. Note: do not extract the file.


3. Disconnect the USB and then turn off the tablet.


4. Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery. To do this, first boot into bootloader when in landscape mode and then simultaneously press the Volume Down button and the Power button. Make the navigation instructions on the screen to select Bootloader and then Recovery.


5. Create a Nandroid backup ROM


6. Proceed to delete data.


7. Choose "install zip from sdcard", then select "choose zip from sdcard". Seek ZIP file named "-10.1-cm-nightly-a700.zip 20,130,908" and press the "Power" button to select. Confirm installation by selecting Yes - Install _____. Zip on the next screen. ROM will automatically install.


8. After completing the ROM installation process, repeat the step 7 but choose gapps-jb-file-signed.zip 20,130,813 instead of ROM zip to install the Google apps package.


9. Back to the main menu of Recovery and select "reboot system now" to reboot the tablet and boot into Android 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM customized CM10.2. First time boot will take time so please wait.


10. If this ROM does not suit you, move on old ROM by booting into recovery, select "Backup and Restore" and restore ROM follow the next instruction.
