Backup & Restore WordPress on a VPS [Part 1] - Overview

Welcome to the opening theme of the series Backup & Restore WordPress on a VPS data. Prior to going into the tutorial and lengthy explanations, I need you to understand through actual work on data backup & restore What is VPS. You can only create more or fastest understand if understand the root of the problem.

Overview of backup methods

When backing up, the system simply execute tar or zip compression to conduct the data in a specific folder into a ZIP file (in zip format or tar.gz) file so you can download it on Where the machine or send it as you like.
For the database, the system will use the mysqldump is available in MySQL Server to extract the data in a certain database and you can export the data into one file .sql .
Just like that, though you have to use a plugin or a script that does that, too often it is used 2 methods above, only using it more flexible.

Overview data recovery method

Like the backup method, if you use the zip or tar to package the files and folders in the source code when restoring simply use unzip or use the command tar to extract the data, or override the backup data to the new data.
For the database, it will use the mysql command to send the data to the database backup file .sql that you need to restore, or you can also put it into a new database.

Recovering data transfer is the same as VPS

Actually there is a problem they are very common in people who are new although they can backup and restore data themselves, but do not know how to move VPS is like.
Put simply, you just need to bring the redundant data in the old VPS to new VPS and restore is finished, the two processes are exactly alike.
